decorations used on the arch and the window frames must be made in the traditional manner with crepe paper.  Garden decoration is allowed but no additional points will be awarded.  Designs are allowed on the fabric of the building or garage and if made in the traditional manner points may be awarded.  If such designs are not made in the traditional manner, no points will be awarded.   This also applies to the use of bunting.

 

CLASS 2 – Decorated House

Decoration must include a spruced arch and spruced window frames but designs may be made from materials other than crepe paper.  Garden decoration, designs on the fabric of the building etc, and use of bunting are all acceptable.

 

CLASS 3 – Other Types of Decorated House

This is when you set aside the traditional forms of decoration and use whatever materials you can imagine.

 

CLASS 4 – Decorated Business Premises

This competition is open to all types of business premises irrespective of the type of decoration used.

 

SPECIAL PRIZE

The Livingston Trophy will be awarded to the best arch on Procession Day included in any of the above classes.

 

Class 1 1st Trophy and £55  2nd  £35   3rd  £25

Class 2 1st Trophy and £25  2nd £20   3rd £15

Class 3 1st Trophy and £25  2nd £20   3rd £15

Class 4 1st Trophy and £25  2nd  £20   3rd £15

 

Judging will be carried out by independent judges and their decision is final.

 

FANCY DRESS CHARACTERS AND BICYCLES

Judging will take place in Marjoribanks Street at 10.30am on Saturday, 4th June.

1st - £8,  2nd - £6,  3rd - £5 will be awarded in each of the following categories –

Pre School Children; Primary School Children and Secondary School Children.

Additional prizes of £15, £10 and £5 will be awarded to groups or two or more persons.

DECORATED VEHICLES

 

Judging will take place in Marjoribanks Street, commencing at 10.00am prompt on Saturday, 4th June.

Advance notification of all entries would be much appreciated.  Please contact the secretary, Jim Walker, 49 Muir Road, Tel – 01506 652483 at an early date.  No entries will be accepted after judging commences.

 

PLEASE LEAVE BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD FREE OUTSIDE THE OLD WEST LOTHIAN COLLEGE SITE

 

CLASS 1

Open to all decorated motor vehicles.

 

1st The Lady Baillie Trophy & £50

2nd Lothian Courier Trophy & £30

3rd Procession Rose Bowl & £20

 

CLASS 2

Hand carts, Cars, Trailers and vehicles not included in Class 1.

 

1st Andy Binning Trophy & £20

2nd The Cairters Trophy & £15

3rd The Balbardie Trophy & £10

 

Overall Winner – Bathgate Town Council Trophy – The 150 Trophy will be awarded to the entry judged to be the most actively entertaining float in the parade.

 

The following rules apply:

 

1. All vehicles must be ready for judging at 10am.

2. A representative of each vehicle will record the entry with the Procession Committee.

3. Classification of vehicles will be made by The Procession Committee.

4. Judging will be carried out by independent judges and their decision will be final.
